As a family that has lived in Denver for six generations, ZF Capital is committed to creating vibrant and strong communities through quality placemaking. With a focus on honesty, integrity, and long-term value creation, we pride ourselves on our creative management and practical solutions.

Prior to forming ZF Capital in 2017, Mike founded RedPeak Properties in 2001, managing & growing the organization for 16 years. He was also a Founding Partner of Legacy Partners in 1998 and prior to that was a partner at Lincoln Property Company. He developed over 70 apartment communities, comprising 11,500 homes throughout his career.

Mike actively participates in the Denver & Colorado business community. He serves on the National Advisory Board for Ace Scholarships; he is the Facilities Chair on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Symphony and is also on the Board of Directors for the Denver Police Foundation. Previously, Mike served on the board of directors for Citywide Banks of Colorado from 1992 to 2023. He also held various leadership positions, including Chair of the Downtown Denver Partnership, ULI Colorado, and Colorado Multifamily Housing Alliance, and as President of the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District. He is also a ULI mentor, aiming to increase diversity in the Colorado Commercial Real Estate Industry.

Mike is now the co-owner of the Kenosha Kingfish, a Northwoods League baseball team in Wisconsin. Combining his business and real estate experience with his passion for baseball and building relationships.

Mike received his BSBA in Finance and Juris Doctor degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a fourth-generation Colorado native.

Mike and his wife, Nancy, reside in downtown Denver and have three married children and eight grandchildren.

Michael is a 5th generation native of Colorado, born and raised in Denver. His background spans multiple asset classes and functions within the commercial real estate industry.

Michael started his career in at Johnson Capital and later moved on to work in budgeting and forecasting at Archstone Communities. After completing graduate school, he was recruited to Seattle, WA, to participate in Starbucks Coffee’s rotational development program. During his time there, he gained experience in the Store Development organization, including new store development, real estate strategy, project management, and lease negotiation. Michael returned to Colorado to work as an analyst at FrontRange Capital Partners, a real estate private equity firm in Cherry Creek. There, he helped manage current investments and underwrite new opportunities for the funds.

Currently, Michael manages investments and new opportunities for ZF Capital with his father, Mike. He is actively involved in the 5280 Trail project in the Golden Triangle neighborhood and sits on several other committees at the Downtown Denver Partnership. He is also on the board of advisors for Pikes Peak Capital based in Denver, CO.

Michael graduated with a degree in Finance from Creighton University and an MBA in Real Estate from the Graaskamp Center at The University of Wisconsin, Madison. He lives in Denver with his wife Emily, and their three children. They enjoy biking and spending time with friends and family in the great outdoors of Colorado.
